Spray Painting

For a number of years spray painting was perceived as industrial work suitable only for large areas and usually on jobs where care and accuracy was not important, however all that has changed. Spraying has been transformed over the last few years and the equipment made much more compact and reliable. Due to advanced technology and improved paints, spraying can now be used in the domestic market. decor8 is totally up to date with all types of spray work.
A large number of home owners are aware that a spray finish is more desirable than a roller applied finish because it achieves a superior appearance. Recently, there has been an increase in spray only specifications, especially on prestigious properties so the trend is there. The list of finishes that can be achieved is vast. The techniques are split in to three types: Airless spraying, Portaspray and HVLP (high volume low pressure).

Airless spraying.

We use the Titan 440 for spray work involving mainly emulsions, masonry coatings and Pearlescent effects. A large amount of spray work involving this piece of kit involves ceilings, high relief plaster ceilings and covings, walls and exterior masonry work i.e. Painting pebble dashing and rendering etc.

Portaspray

This equipment is used for spraying fleck finishes also called multicolour. Multicolour is so named, as there can be around five different colours in one tin. These can be a fine or broad fleck finish. Interior designers are starting to pick up on these as an alternative look for the home.

HVLP

This is the very latest in spray technology and again we use a Titan machine. It reduces nearly 70% over spray than conventional spraying which means more paint is applied to the surface that is being sprayed than lost in the air. This unit is ideal for all types of interior work. In fact the spray fan can be reduced to so small a flow that even spindles on the staircase can be sprayed easily and neatly. Fitted kitchen units and wardrobes are effectively just boxes with fancy sprayed fronts and can be revamped saving on the cost of replacement. New products such as metallic and iridescent effects are recommended and are applied by HVLP.

We are constantly updating skills, new products and techniques and would be delighted to discuss customer's requirements with regard to any aspects of spraying.
